Monitoring your Oracle Cloud DNS records automatically is made easy with ZoneWatcher. After you've added your account credentials, we will automatically import all of your domains and begin monitoring them for changes.
To get started adding your Oracle Cloud account, you'll first want to generate a new API key on Oracle Cloud dashboard. We use this token to automatically fetch the domains and associated DNS records. We recommend creating a new IAM user limited to the Read-Only permissions for the DNS service.
Once you've generated your api key, be sure to download the private key as we will need it later to create your Oracle Cloud DNS provider. Next you'll want to copy the fingerprint listed on the API keys table.
You'll also need to copy the User's OCID from the Users page. This can be found on the user's profile page under the OCID field.
Lastly, you'll need to copy the Tenancy's OCID from the Zone Details page.
Once you've retrieved the information above, you can create your new Oracle Cloud DNS provider on ZoneWatcher.
After you give it a descriptive name, you'll want to paste the full contents of the file you downloaded earlier into the Private Key field. It should start with -----BEGIN PRIVATE KEY-----
and end with -----END PRIVATE KEY-----
(please include those lines).
You'll also want to paste the User's OCID, Tenancy's OCID, and the Fingerprint you copied earlier into their respective fields.
After you've created your Oracle Cloud DNS provider, we will sync all the zones associated with your account and their associated DNS records. You'll be able to view them from either the Provider's page or the Zone Dashboard.
