Move a Provider to Another Team

If you manage multiple teams in ZoneWatcher, you may need to move a provider from one team to another. When you move a provider, all zones associated with that provider are automatically moved along with it, since zones belong to their provider's team.

To move a provider, you must meet the following requirements:

• Team Role: You must be an Owner or Admin of the team that currently owns the provider
• Target Team Membership: You must belong to the target team you want to move the provider to
• Multiple Teams: You must be a member of at least two teams

Application administrators can move providers between any teams, regardless of team membership.

1. Navigate to the provider you want to move by going to Providers and selecting the provider
2. On the provider view page, click the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner
3. Select Move to Team from the dropdown menu
4. In the modal that appears, select the target team from the dropdown
5. Review the confirmation message and click Confirm to proceed

When a provider is moved to another team:

• All zones are moved: Every zone under the provider automatically transfers to the new team since zones inherit their team from the provider
• Monitoring continues: DNS monitoring and checks continue uninterrupted during and after the move
• Historical data is preserved: All check history, records, and notifications remain associated with the provider and its zones
• Team context changes: The provider and its zones will now appear under the new team's dashboard

If you don't see the "Move to Team" option in the three-dot menu, check the following:

• Team role: Ensure you are an Owner or Admin of the provider's current team. Members and Viewers cannot move providers.
• Multiple teams: You need to belong to at least two teams to see this option. If you only have one team, there is no destination to move the provider to.
